Privacy Policy

Link My Droid was built with privacy at its core: syncing between your Android and your Mac happens directly over your local network, without passing through our servers. This policy explains the small amount of data we process for licensing and purchases, and how you control it.

Data we do NOT collect

Synced content — files, clipboard text, notifications and screen mirroring — travels only between your own devices on the local network (LAN), encrypted. This content is never sent to, stored by, or accessed by us.

Data we process

To validate the license and process the purchase, the backend processes a minimal set of data:

  • Anonymous device identifier (fingerprint): a hash of the device ID. It is not reversible and does not identify you personally.
  • License key and Google Play purchase token, to verify the purchase and bind 1 license to 1 Mac.
  • Authentication account (Firebase Authentication), to associate the license with the user.
  • Technical request metadata: app version, platform (Android/macOS) and IP address (logged temporarily for security and abuse prevention).

How we use the data

We do not use your data for advertising, we show no ads, and we do not sell data to third parties.

  • Verify purchases and issue/renew the license (signed entitlement).
  • Enforce the 1-license-per-Mac limit and the trial period.
  • Prevent fraud and abuse of the service.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell your data. It is processed only by infrastructure providers acting as processors under contract:

  • Google Play Billing — purchase and payment-token processing.
  • Google Firebase — authentication.
  • Railway — hosting of the licensing backend and database.

Retention

We keep license data while the license is active and for the period required by legal and tax obligations. Technical logs containing IP are kept briefly and then discarded.

Security

Licensing traffic uses HTTPS. The entitlement is cryptographically signed (Ed25519) and validated offline in the app. Device identifiers are stored in derived (hashed) form.

Your rights

Under the LGPD (Brazil) and the GDPR (EU), you may request access, correction, portability or deletion of your data, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, use the email below.

Children

Link My Droid is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be indicated by the update date at the top of this page.
